Victims of hair loss check their pillows every morning to see how much hair they have lost during the night. Sufferers from hair loss are obsessed by the amount of hair that is left on their combs or brushes after they use them. Hair loss victims will have a look in the sink or bath after they have had a wash for signs that more hair has been lost. Hair loss sufferers end up becoming nervy, worried and even frightened with what is unfolding.

They wonder how much more hair that they are going to lose today and if anyone will notice the horror. It affects the confidence no end because they are constantly worrying about how friends, work colleagues, bosses and even people that they don’t know perceive them. It’s not a nice place to be.

The thing is, if it is concerning you that much, why not be proactive and take some remedial action?

The best place to start is with your physician. Ensure that you have nothing medically wrong with you. Some conditions can cause loss of hair and these can more than likely be treated. Conditions such as lupus, diabetes, bacterial and fungal infections and hypothyroidism can affect hair loss and are curable.

Stress, worry and trauma are responsible for some loss of hair as can pregnancy, giving birth and surgery. These can all be kept under control and are not permanent.

The main reason behind hair loss for the millions of its sufferers though is, hormones and what you have been dealt in your genetic make up from your parents. In this case, other avenues must be explored.

1. Take good care of your body. Take plenty of exercise and learn to adopt a healthy diet. Hair loss can be slowed down if your body is in a good state of repair.

2. As stress and worry can cause hair loss, do lots of activities that can relieve or reduce them. Meditation, exercise and yoga are very beneficial in reducing levels of stress.

3. Treat your hair with respect. Try to avoid poor quality shampoos and don’t brush or comb it in a rough manner. Try to avoid chemicals and colorants. If you can do without the use of curling irons and hot hair dryers, you should do so.

4. There are many natural treatments available. Some work for some people and not for others. Experiment with natural oils and herb remedies. There are many to check out so see what works for you.

5. There are also many products available from manufacturers that have spent an awful lot of money trying to come up with a cure-all hair loss treatment. Once again results vary according to the individual who is using them. Experiment with various products such as  for example. They should be used at the onset of hair loss.

Whatever the level of your hair loss, if it bothers you, you owe it to your own peace of mind and well being to explore your options. Do it early on and find what is right for you.
